Explore Local Markets on Your Cheap Turkey Holidays This Year

For a much-needed trip abroad, cheap Turkey holidays is a great option. This beautiful destination is the best place to get your fill of sun, sand and sea and enjoy incredible food and culture. What you might not know is that Turkey is also a great place for some retail therapy! The markets here are second to none and well worth taking the time to explore, not just for the bargains to be had, but for the incredible atmosphere.

Istanbul has some of the most renowned souks in the country, so be sure to stop off for some culture in the capital. Browse the Egyptian Spice Bazaar, one of the oldest Turkish landmarks. With an authentic aroma throughout the area, the market is known for its variety of spices, herbs and nuts. You can also buy souvenirs and other local knick knacks here.

Be sure to visit the Grand Bazaar, another one of Istanbul’s most-talked-about markets. Dating as far back as 1701, this covered market was built by the Sultan Mehmet and its thousands of stalls stretch across 65 streets. From jewelry and high-end goods to cheap party favours, be sure to make a stop here on your Turkey holidays.

If you don’t make it out to the capital on your cheap Turkey holidays, there are still lots of other markets around the country to visit. For instance, in Marmaris, visit the Carsi Market, home to 200 stalls and the place to buy absolutely anything from clothing to food. For the true Turkish experience, go on a Sunday, but if you’d prefer better deals, go during the week and avoid the crowds.
